@HarrodsCareers Tweet Chat

An insightful tweet chat with a #HarrodsInsider

Our Online Brand Manager, Reena Rai, joined us this week over on Twitter @HarrodsCareers to talk careers paths, inspiration, and staying digitally savvy.

She contributed enlightening answers to a lively tweet chat about how to get your foot in the door and make a career for yourself in the digital space within luxury retail. Her passion for her work is infectious and it was a great opportunity to get a real #HarrodsInsider look at the eCommerce side of the business.

In case you missed it, or if you’d like to refresh your memory, here’s a roundup of the top questions and answers. We will be hosting another #HarrodsInsider tweet chat in the very near future, so stay tuned to @HarrodsCareers for further announcements.

What’s been the highlight of you Harrods Career so far?

– Last year, I helped to plan Harrods’ first digitally-led campaign, Inside the Studio, which was definitely a highlight. The campaign won a Drapers Digital award for Best Use of Content which is testament to our content meets commerce approach.

What advice would you give to a recent graduate?

– Always trust your instinct. It’s almost impossible to predict and map out your career, especially just after university. Make sure your CV really sells you & your skills. Highlight any transferable skills as well as eCommerce experience.

– eCommerce is so fast-moving, the digital landscape is constantly evolving with new innovations and technology. Social media is great for connecting with people & making contacts in eCommerce or fashion, especially Twitter and LinkedIn.

How do you keep challenging yourself digitally? Professionally and personally?

– To be honest, working in digital provides its own challenge to  continually innovate & push the boundaries

– Personally, I try to keep as engaged w/social media as possible. My new challenges are Snapchat & Periscope
