Big Ticket Warehouse

Big Ticket warehousing involves the receipt, storage, loading and subsequent delivery of furniture items direct to our customer. A large percentage of furniture is bespoke therefore attention to detail is paramount. The team is approx 20 staff members with a real mix of experience and youth who all work towards the same goal. We also will be handling some non stock groups, namely Visual Merchandise and Store Planning, these are fixtures and fittings which act as a selling aid and add to create a theatrical shopping experience on the shop floor. A demanding department which requires a good level of fitness as a lot of heavy work is involved, a good head for heights is also required as you could be working up to 12 metres in the air.

Pre Retail

Pre Retail is the department that is responsible for receipting and verifying all the general merchandise that Harrods sells. This involves booking the deliveries in to the business. Receiving the stock prior to counting and preparing the stock with price tickets and security tags before dispatching to the various departments or their support warehouses. The stock ranges from Beauty products, Harrods Signature products, Menswear, Ladieswear, Childrens, Sports, Fashion Accessories and Homewares.

Operations

The Thames Valley DC Operations team consists of several different functions responsible for ensuring that the site is fully operational at all times.

The functions that make up the Operations team are:

Site Services

This team is made up of 1 Manager, 1 Assistant Manager, 2 Team Leaders and 8 Site Services Operatives.  The Team Leaders and Operatives will be responsible for collecting all waste on site and recycling it whether baling cardboard and plastic, shredding paper, repairing pallets and the cleaning of totes to go back into the supply chain.  They will also have responsibility for the cleaning of the warehouse and yard on both sites.  The Manger is also responsible for third party contracts relating to the site cleaning, landscapers and pest control.

Site Engineers

This team is made up of a Principal Technician, a Senior Technician and an Engineer.  They will be responsible for the day to day running and maintenance of the plant, as well as other items such as the material handling equipment and the automation.

Staff Restaurant

The team consists of a Chef Manager and 3 Operatives and will provide a breakfast and lunch service.
