Head Office
Harrods simply wouldn't be the success it is without the dedicated teams working behind the scenes in Head Office. And, unlike other department stores, our head office is based on-site, just a stone's throw from the customers that are everyone's priority.
Marketing and PR
Our in-house marketing and PR team supports the store on a daily basis via a number of key functions:
- Store image
- Press offices & PR
- Advertising sales
- Marketing
Among other things, this means working with internal and external parties to create the look and feel of the store, both inside and out - including all our windows and store promotions, seasonal branding and partner advertising.
Visual Merchandising
Working outside shop hours, our merchandising team is responsible for managing the store's large displays, looking after seasonal changes, window displays, special promotions, product launches and topical events.
It's a challenging function, calling for creative people with an eye for detail, a willingness to travel and a knowledge of merchandising developed on the shop floor.
IT/IS
Keeping our systems functioning is possibly one of the most important roles at Harrods. From tills to pagers, bar code readers to SAP dynamics, phone lines to web applications, everything you do here will have a direct impact on our customer experience.
While coding skills are important, you need to be more than just a techie to work here. Consulting and project management skills are just as important, as is a keen understanding of the business critical nature of our information systems.
Human Resources
HR at Harrods is a people centric function with a strong commercial focus, focusing on four key areas:
- Resourcing
- Learning and development
- HR services
- Internal communications.
Driven by the same commitment to service, presentation and relationships that you'd find on the shop floor, many of the team have previously worked in the store - so they know exactly what being a Harrods employee is all about.
Store Operations
Encompassing engineering, construction, cleaning, plumbing, purchasing and more besides, our store operations teams play a vital role in ensuring that Harrods is kept in full working order - inside and out.
All internal store changes - e.g. to flooring and ceilings - and shop-fittings are carried out by the Store Development team, who work closely with external and internal partners to create the luxury environment that customers love.
