Our Graduates

“I feel privileged to have started my career in such a prestigious and internationally renowned business.”

AMANDA, Graduate 2009

"I decided Harrods was the best place to start my career in retail as it is the most prestigious department store in the world. Even though the scheme is longer than with other retailers, it really lays the groundwork to ensure you reach your full potential. The Harrods Graduate Programme treats you as an individual, and you will get to work with both experienced retail managers and senior management. Harrods encourages graduates to try and test new ways to do business – and it’s nice to know that your opinion is valued. To be successful, you need to be someone who has a genuine passion for retail, with unimaginable enthusiasm for the industry. Being ambitious and focused is important with any retailer, but at Harrods, it’s crucial. The company motto says “anything is possible”, but this can only be truly achieved by well-trained, confident managers”.

CARYS, Graduate 2008

“Harrods is an incredible place to work. The training I have received has been second to none.”

COLLETTE, Graduate 2009

"The rate of my progression at Harrods has been fast, but I have been supported at every turn. The Graduate Programme taught me that retail is more than the shop floor and how important it is that the support and retail functions work together at all times, and this has helped me immensely throughout my career."

MITUL, Area Manager Knightsbridge Dispatch, 8 years service

"I was initially attracted to Harrods by the internationally renowned name, and the thorough training they offered new graduates. I had applied to several other big retailers, but Harrods appealed the most and had the most comprehensive training programme. Harrods offers a wealth of opportunities to its employees, and I have seen many of my colleagues progress into many diverse roles."

LUCY, Business Manager, Womenswear

“The HMP filled in the blanks that my skillset lacked. I now feel confident in every business situation.”

GRACE, Graduate 2008

"I was given the opportunity to identify some key management skills and, more importantly, develop my own management style. All the modules provided me with the confidence to successfully manage a team of people. I was pleasantly surprised with the freedom I was given to express my own opinions and ideas, and I was able to provide honest feedback on any subject and my managers were always open to change.

During my project research, I had the opportunity to meet with members of the Senior Management team, whose work in the business has been a great inspiration to me. I liaised with different departments within Harrods, from Marketing to Buying, which gave me the opportunity to explore different aspects of the business. As a result, I now possess a better understanding and a broader view of Harrods and the retail industry as a whole.

In terms of my ideas for improving the store, I have always been made to feel that the possibilities are endless. This is because people from even the highest levels were available to listen to my ideas and offer their honest feedback and support. The HMP has been a fantastic journey and I will always be grateful for the opportunities that it has provided."
