School work experience

Gain what is more than likely your first insight into the working world. Make the most of this invaluable opportunity to discover roles or working environments that could eventually impact your future career choice. School work experience placements are governed by safety and security restrictions, insurance cover and availability and do not include selling on the shopfloor and manual or high-risk work.

You must be:

Between 14 and 16 years old in years 10 and 11 and a relative of an employee at Harrods or a student at a school on Harrods Resourcings’ partner list of local schools (Zones 1-2)

The placement:

  • Lasts for one to two weeks
  • You will receive support and guidance during your placement, along with feedback, a work log review and a completion report
  •  You must adhere to company policies and procedures, act professionally at all times and observe Harrods business dress code standards

The pay:

Unfortunately school work experience is unpaid, but you will be able to take advantage of our highly subsidised canteen

The process:

  • Placement requests should be made a minimum of two months in advance
  • Requests can be made by the related employee or the partner list of schools by emailing futuretalent@harrods.com and should include an itinery
  • Harrods Resourcing team will contact the person requesting the placement to go through the process in detail
  • Harrods Resourcing will arrange a welcome day for the successful student
