Vocational Work Placements
Gain experience in the workplace and receive practical training that, under an assessable part of your student course, will lead to you being issued with a VQ (vocational qualification). A series of hands-on, work-related tasks will help you develop your knowledge and skills, enabling you to carry out your role to the best of your ability. Taking a VQ could be appropriate if you are looking to acquire new skills or improve upon existing ones.
You must be:
- Between 16 and 19 years old
- Studying a VQ at a college on Harrods Resourcings’ Partner list
The placement:
- The duration of the placement is dependant on the VQ requirements – it could be anything from two weeks to five months
- You will receive support and guidance during your placement, along with feedback, a work log review and a completion report
- You must adhere to company policies and procedures, act professionally at all times and observe Harrods business dress code standards
The pay:
Pay is dependent on the length of the vocational placement
The process:
- Placement requests are decided annually by the department budget holder or partner college and emailed to futuretalent@harrods.com
- Placements are advertised to partner colleges on harrodscareers.com
- Harrods Resourcing will arrange a welcome day for the successful student
