I thought I might feel a little lost within such a large store. As expected, joining the company was quite daunting, but my colleagues were extremely helpful and I soon felt like part of the Harrods team.
In order to promote one of our new products at the time, our team worked hard after hours to put together a flash mob. This was quite an unusual thing to burst into on the shop floor, but the customers loved it and we had a blast performing.
My favourite part of an average day would have to motivating and enthusing other people. I enjoy helping people, from the team I look after to the customers.
I applied for the role of Home Stylist as I knew I would be able to combine my skills from my interior design degree and the skills from the Harrods Sales Academy, a programme offered by Learning & Development, in which I took part last year.
If someone were to join my team I would like them to be as enthusiastic and as passionate about the Harrods brand as I am.
It’s amazing to work for a company steeped in history yet still so innovative at the same time; Shoe Heaven is the latest example of how we are moving forward yet retaining passion for luxury and quality.
At the moment the new furniture department is amazing, it’s serene and very inspirational up there, some great brands such as Clive Christian and Yoo Home. However, I’m really looking forward to Luxury Christmas which is about to launch soon.
