Meet Natasha - Employee Engagement Events Executive

From Internal Communications Assistant to Events Executive, Natasha shares her career journey and why she is so passionate about her new role.

What have you learnt from your previous role which will benefit you in your new role?

My previous role as Internal Communications Assistant gave me a really good insight into how internal events work at Harrods. My involvement in previous events like the Business Update and the Christmas Ball gave me knowledge and skills I can now use to take ownership of current and future employee engagement events.

What does your new role involve and  why are you so excited about it?

What I particularly enjoy about my role is the variety of events I work on, from our quarterly Business Update, which informs employees on the stores performance and gives them the opportunity to hear about future projects from our leadership team, to events such as our award ceremonies and Friends and Family days. Here I get the chance to be more creative in planning events that thank and play an active role in helping the business recognise our employees for their exceptional performance.

"I have been told in the past to believe in myself and have confidence in my own ability."

Highlights of your new role so far?

Highlights from this year include, the Friends & Family days we hosted at Lego Land & Thorpe Park, as well as taking our Business updates externally to accommodate a larger audience and live streaming the event in-store and to our distribution centre, helping push the boundaries and standards of our events. We also introduced an audience interaction app to the business, which allows us to gain instant feedback and have a two way communication with the audience.

What is the best career advice you have ever received?

I have been told in the past to believe in myself and have confidence in my own ability. It’s helped me to remember this recently, as it’s easy to lose sight of all the things you have learnt throughout your career so far when you get a new role and are expected to step up.
