About You

The Event Manager’s key role is to take ownership of the broad range of events that carry the Harrods brand name looking to grow them both strategically & organically. This role will primarily focus on managing Harrods events and brand presence external to the store and internationally. In addition the role will require you to manage business focus events for Harrods employees. The day to day includes managing event specific P&L’s, budgets, licensing, scheduling and resourcing as well as overseeing the implementation of all events in line with Harrods standards ensuring that business objectives are being met at all times.

What to Expect

Management

  • Lead and manage a team to develop the existing portfolio of in market events
  • Identify new event ideas for the portfolio and identify new international markets for Harrods events
  • Lead and develop relationships with key market players across the entire value chain
  • Manage the event specific P&L’s, setting budgets, licensing, communication, scheduling and resourcing.

Production

  • Understand the key external market drivers to develop the content of all divisional event programmes, ensuring each event is content driven in a timely manner and focused.
  • Plan and monitor research and supplier acquisition for all business unit events.
  • Develop production supplier database internationally
  • Work with key stakeholders to produce coherent brand strategies for events to maintain and increase relevance to market.
  • Generate topics, validate ideas and launch new events

PR, Marketing and Communication

  • Work closely with the PR, Marcomms, Corporate Communications and CRM departments to ensure effective marketing of events.
  • Communicating, maintaining and developing client and brand relationships
  • Ensure team has effective data strategy to meet objectives.
  • Translate event briefs to provide clear project management plans and concepts as well as ensure events are on schedule and cost effective.
  • Produce reports to communicate event concepts to key stakeholders such as Harrods.com, Social Media, Harrods Magazine, Internal Communications, etc.
  • Have a global overview of communication strategies amongst directorates to ensure that activities are not duplicated or conflict with wider business objectives.
  • Identify new routes to market to develop brand extension
  • To confidently present events to internal board of directors bi-monthly

Project Management

  • Lead the Event team on the execution of events to ensure strong and successful delivery of the event.
  • Oversee post event reports and analysis to ensure ROI has been achieved.
