Interview with Rachael White

I’m Rachel the Head of HR Service Delivery & Transformation. The last year has been busy for us, we have been focusing on driving our people strategy alongside the implementation of our strategy enabler, Workday (a people management system).
 
Since we decided to implement Workday last summer it’s been a fast and furious journey and unbelievably exciting for myself and the team involved. The team worked incredibly hard to deliver the best version of Workday for Harrods and have really transformed our processes and data in doing so. The way we work and how we enable our managers is a step change from 12 months ago and with 91% user adoption in the first 6 weeks, I feel incredibly proud of the work we have delivered.
 
Like any project, it was not without its challenges, but they brought us closer and we worked collaboratively across functions to deliver together. We focussed on user adoption to ensure that we have a really strong change plan from day one. Through implementation, we have been able to empower our managers and employees via self-service from go live. One of our biggest learning from the project was to stay close, communicate and bring our unique skills and experiences together to achieve the best outcome possible. 
 
That’s why I love the people here. The team are great; we work hard but have a lot of fun along the way! Not a day goes by when I don’t laugh. I also love the challenges that my role provides – when you have a new challenge, a new experience and something new to learn every day it keeps you engaged and driven to do the best you can.
 
It’s an incredibly exciting time in HR and I look forward to focussing on how we continue to design and deliver an operating and service model that represents the future value that HR will drive at Harrods.
