UNIQUELY YOU TOGETHER HARRODS

My name is Arnie

Most people that meet Arnie recognise him as a Green Man. To us he is our friend and colleague, Arnie. We had the pleasure of catching up with him to talk about his experience and famous role as a Green Man.

How long have you worked at Harrods?
I’ve been working as a Green Man for two years now. The time has flown by.

What does it feel like to be a Green Man? You are practically famous…
It’s a privilege and a unique role. We’re an important part of the customers day, the first and last point of our customers journey. They always remember you.

What are the key skills to succeed as Green Man?
Very good knowledge of the store and London – I pride myself on my knowledge.

Any advice for anyone wanting to join as a Green Man?
- You have to be as good at the end of the day as you are at the beginning of the day.
- Being proud of our brand. You’re the first person our customers see.
- Weatherproof – in other words, ready for the day, regardless of rain, cold or sweltering heat.

Any last words?
Every conceivable skillset is found from the business – from engineers to the company doctor. It’s a pleasure to work with great people. And we have a lot of fun.
