UNIQUELY YOU TOGETHER HARRODS

We're supporting Autism Hour

We want to create moments of magic and lasting memories for all our customers. As you would expect, our store is usually bright and colourful; filled with music, lights and smells that help us create a shopping experience that sets us apart. We’re proud of our store but also know that it may be overwhelming for some of our autistic customers.

We have an opportunity to create a calmer shopping experience for autistic customers and educate our colleagues about how they can best help autistic customers to enjoy our store. We are fortunate to have a brand that is well-known, and we hope our involvement will encourage other retailers to follow suit in the future.

Why is this important to us?
More than 1 in 100 people in the UK are on the autism spectrum but there isn’t nearly enough understanding about how we can support autistic people. If we can make some changes in store which help to educate our people and promote conversations about autism it will have a big impact.

How can you find out more?

The National Autistic Society provides lots of information about how to support autistic people. To find out more visit: https://www.autism.org.uk.
