We are recruiting for an Assistant Buyer to join our Buying team covering our Home and Stationary category here at Harrods. This role supports the Buyer in all aspects of the buying cycle, across all channels (store, online & airports) and both operational models (own buy & concession).
About the Role
As Assistant Buyer one of your top responsibilities will be planning and selecting product according to customer demand, trends, budget, historical sales and divisional strategy. You will complete cross-channel brand research to stay up to date on the lates business news, carefully analysing what this means for your customers and products in return. You will also manage in-season trading, driving sales through stock management whilst continuously monitoring sales and negotiating re-orders, stock swaps and Return to Vendors (RTV’s) with vendors.
Your responsibilities will also include:
- Producing a weekly trade report.
- Updating monthly floor plans with brand moves and shop-fit changes.
- Conducting competitor shops and brand and industry research.
- Providing vendors with sell through reports to provide feedback on performance.
- Prepare agendas and materials for brand meetings and buying appointments.
About You
You will be a seasoned Assistant Buyer with previous experience in Buying, preferably in the luxury Retail Own Bought Industry. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate an organised and systematic approach to getting things done. You are able to handle sensitive information with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality, always operating with trust and integrity in everything you do.
You will also possess:
- Good PC literacy, including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability and willingness to multi-task.
- Effective prioritisation skills and ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities.
- Proactive and solutions based thinking.
