Our facilities team are recruiting a plumbing technician for nights shift team. This unique opportunity will work 4 days on 4 days off rolling rota at our Knightsbridge store and play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a seamless Harrods experience for all our customers.

About You

You will be a trained plumber with circa 5 years’ experience in the industry, suitably qualified to a minimum C&G level, formally apprenticeship trained. You will be trained in the control and management of legionella and have experience of all types of plumbing and mechanical pipework systems as well as possess technical knowledge and experience of general mechanical works, pipefitting & plumbing. You must be fully conversant with necessary BS and relevant regulations and actively keep up to date with new industry changes and developments.

Working on shifts and amongst a wider team you must be confident, self-motivated, keen, and eager to learn, able to communicate clearly with others with flexibility to accommodate and support your team and business. You will be to be confident to respond reactively to faults and able to problem solve on your feet. Able to work on your own initiative and make quick and accurate decisions.

What to expect

As a Plumbing Technician on our night shifts you will undertake planned and reactive maintenance either: directly, or through specialist contractors; and complete associated administration. At times you will need to react to emergencies and escalate issues that have a wider business or facilities impact and be responsible for seeing the right steps are taken.

In this role you will be responsible undertaking works as instructed by the Plumbing Principal and Senior Plumber in respect to the operation, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems within the Knightsbridge store, including all pipework systems (excluding refrigeration and cooling towers), associated pumps, strainers, pressurisation units, heat exchangers, valves, storage tanks, public health and rain water systems, sump pumps, sprinkler / hydrant systems, sanitary-ware and associated fittings. You will also maintain water treatment / conditioning to LTHW and Chilled water systems.
