Process Technologist

Join our Food Development team as a Process Technologist, playing a key role in bringing exceptional food products from concept to launch while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and operational excellence.

About the Role

As a Process Technologist, you will support the Product Development Manager in developing, managing and continuously improving process controls across our central production kitchens. Working closely with Product Development, Buying, Culinary, Technical, Quality and Production teams, you will help scale innovative food concepts into commercially viable products while maintaining the quality and craftsmanship synonymous with the Harrods brand. You will act as a subject matter expert for processes, recipes and documentation, ensuring products are launched efficiently, accurately and in line with operational requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Creating and maintaining accurate process specifications, recipes and build documentation for both new and existing products.
• Scaling recipes from development stage through to production kitchen readiness, ensuring quality and consistency throughout.
• Collaborating with culinary, technical and production teams to develop and uphold product quality standards and specifications.
• Monitoring yields, wastage and process performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and greater efficiency.
• Producing production-ready recipes, supporting documentation and standard operating procedures to enable successful product launches and manufacturing handovers.

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

About You

You will be a highly organised and detail-oriented food professional with a passion for turning innovative culinary concepts into successful products. You will enjoy working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders and be confident managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Combining strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness, you will be driven by quality, continuous improvement and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Your ability to balance creativity with process discipline will enable you to support the successful development and launch of market-leading food products.

You will also have:

• Experience within new product development and process management in a food manufacturing, food retail or central production kitchen environment.
• A qualification or degree in Professional Cookery, Culinary Arts, Food Science, Food Product Management or a related discipline, alongside a Food Hygiene Certificate or Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
• Strong knowledge of food production processes, menu and range development, food safety requirements, and Microsoft Office applications.
