At Harrods, the Retail Manager is critical to the delivery of the world class service that our business is renowned for. We like to call it the “Art of the Possible”. Being the front-line face of the leadership team, the Retail Manager is skilled at building high performing teams and delivering effective performance coaching across both face to face and virtual channels. This is achieved through high levels of presence on the floor and a natural ability to inspire and engage sales colleagues through story-telling and a culture of continuous feedback.

We’re in the midst of a change at Harrods that our business hasn’t seen before. Our Retail offering is evolving as we grow our omni channel approach, and so our leadership team has to be agile and flexible, curious and bold enough to try new things. As we continue to shape our virtual/assisted shopping approach you’ll play a significant part. You’ll be passionate about both traditional Retail “on site” sales through service as well as driving pro-active sales, leads and acquisition, through virtual experiences for customers.

About you
You’ll have an exceptional track record in building, leading and supporting teams to achieve success. Amongst the qualities that make you shine are:
- You’re a relationship led leader and have proven performance coaching ability, ideally in a fast paced Retail or Hospitality environment. You know your team like you know your family and you lead from the front, you’re present and showing your team the “how” and role modelling what great looks like
- A genuine “people person” with a passion for helping others learn and grow. You get a kick out of helping your team members succeed
- You’ve got high levels of emotional intelligence and self-awareness and ability to flex your style
- Data led decision making is key. You’re confident analysing and interpreting multiple data sources to take appropriate actions spot new opportunities
- Personally comfortable with ambiguity and change. We’re looking to you to help your team navigate changes across Retail and the business whilst maintaining high levels of engagement. If you’ve got change leadership experience then so much the better
- Commercially astute, with a drive for results and brave enough to challenge the status quo – in the right way of course
- Understanding of and a genuine interest in the luxury customer and their needs
- Ability to story tell and bring ideas alive to explain the how to colleagues
- Resilient and actively seeks constructive feedback for improvement as well as deal with difficult circumstances (not shy away from complex people issues for fear of grievance)
- Conscientious with a relentless focus on delivering to the best of your ability. From performance to standards to people and customer experience
