When we caught up with Alex Campos, Personal Shopper at Harrods, he arrived carrying an armful of dresses and bags of Jimmy Choo heels. A client was due shortly, searching for the perfect outfit as the mother of the bride. Everything had been prepared in advance, which is a familiar moment in a Personal Shopping role, where preparation sets the tone for the day.

Alex has been part of Harrods for nearly ten years. He started as an assistant floor manager, moved into brand management, and worked across Menswear, Sports, and Womenswear. During the pandemic, he worked in virtually clienteling, which is where he discovered how much he enjoyed Personal Shopping.

Alex describes Personal Shopper roles as diverse and fulfilling. Every client brings something different. Some weeks involve several in-store appointments while also managing conversations with many more shopping virtually. Staying organised is essential.

For Alex, what makes Personal Shopping at Harrods special is the sense of possibility. Clients often arrive with ideas and very specific requests. Being able to bring those ideas to life, no matter how big or small, is what makes the role rewarding.
