Artworker

• The Designer will develop innovative concepts and designs working alongside the sign studio team, and assist when required with the artwork development, preparation and fitting of high quality POS/sinage for Harrods. 

  He/she will be required to articulate design concepts and decisions to the Sign Studio Manager and business partners.

  All members of the sign studio design team are responsible for complete individual project development, from concept, through design, to creating media/print-ready artwork.

  The Designer will have overall responsibility for the design execution, including full artwork approval prior to the first draft being presented to the client. They will provide feedback on the designer’s print executions.

  Working with the Sign Studio Manager the Designer will ensure Harrods design creative is innovative and fresh whilst maintaining a luxury aesthetic.

  To assist the Sign Studio Manager and Creative Project Manager to communicate designs, and reproduction requirements as necessary to external suppliers for production, and install.

• Excellent proficiency in all facets of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, and Indesign especially)

Additionally advantageous: Understanding of HTML and Dreamweaver, as well as Illustration skills

• Excellent layout skills, great typography and retouching knowledge 

• To successfully understand a brief in order to interpret business needs and develop a concept to suit its purpose

• To think creatively to solve the problem the overall brief proposes; whilst being innovative within constraints of cost and time (Time management and prioritisation skills)

• Choosing the most suitable style and techniques based on the briefand brand guidelines

• A strong eye for detail

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, and can multi-task

• Be able to professionally present finalised concepts to high-level management and meet to discuss brief objectives and requirements of the job.

• The initiative to gather information and data through research if needed

• Candidate should’ve either worked in a design agency or in-house/retail studio environment, as a designer at a junior to mid-weight level
