Here at Harrods we house more celebrity chefs, exclusive dining brands and unique food halls than any other location in the UK. We are currently looking for a Butcher to join our passionate, supportive, and award-winning Production Kitchen, all within our iconic Knightsbridge store.

About the Role

As a Butcher, you’ll act as a vital part of the team by ensuring the smooth running of the Butchery section, and providing support to the Sous Chef and other team members. You’ll be responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing a variety of meat products according to company standards for the Production Kitchen and Restaurants. 

In this role, you’ll actively provide direction and support to the team to deliver the operational requirements of the day as needed. You’ll assist the management in the planning and forecasting of stock and orders, support with the organisation, stock rotation and labelling of food that is stored. You’ll guarantee that Food Safety standards are adhered to by enforcing a high standard of hygiene and sanitation in all-food related outlets.

About You

You’ll have a strong track record of time spent within a professional butchery, assisting in the management of your section ideally within a hotel, retail store or other high volume catering environment. You'll have extensive knowledge of meat cutting techniques and food safety standards, and experience supervising junior cooks in your area.

You’ll have great time-management skills and a strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties. You’ll have exceptional interpersonal skills and good attention to detail, which will be evident through paperwork completed, organisation of department and sufficient stock levels. Having good PC literacy is a must.

• Competitive salary package of up to £17 p/h (this is made up of a generous base salary plus service charge)* 
• Set contracted hours – paid additional working hours at an overtime rate of 1.5 p/h
