Harrods is looking for a talented and motivated Designer Editor to deliver high-quality creative work across the full Harrods print publication portfolio (Harrods Magazines, Harrods Man, Home, Estates and various supplements).

About the Role
The Design Editor will work with the Editor and Creative Design Manager to oversee, develop and manage all things creative on the magazine and supporting channels. They will help establish the creative direction, style and design look and feel across the print portfolio. Bringing their unique vision, they must constantly strive to improve the level of design and photography across the portfolio, ultimately driving sales within store.
They will be passionate about the latest trends in design, typography and photography and be able to execute creative design across multiple channels, including our publishing portfolio and in store projects.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Guardian of visual tone of voice within the magazine
- Deliver unique and innovative design and creative in the world of multi-brand retail
- Fashion forward / digitally aware
- Partner with the Creative Design Manager, Editor and Production Manager to champion clear creative vision and purpose for the design team and support integration of disciplines into ‘one team’ across the Harrods Creative Studio function.
- Creative Planning, Scheduling and Execution
- Deliver innovative and dynamic creative ideas when it comes to design and creative direction
- Actively involved in ideation and production of creative solutions for brands exploring new formats and print format innovation
- Collaborate seamlessly with the team of art directors to lead creative ideation and photoshoots, ensuring the delivery of a cohesive and elevated visual design tone for Harrods Magazine.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the content strategy, creatively aligning design with the overall vision while managing the complexities of each project.
- Support and align with Harrods’ commercial business objectives, ensuring all creative work contributes to both brand value and/or brand partnership goals.
- Take a fashion-forward approach to creative design direction, enhancing Harrods Magazine and partnership campaigns with a bold, innovative aesthetic that resonates with our luxury audience.
Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

About You
You must be used to working in a fast paced team as well as being self-motivated, articulate and able to manage multiple projects/requests independently. You will ideally have experience or passion for retail and the luxury sector, and will be able to think laterally and creatively to come up with great design solutions quickly and effectively in a demanding and challenging environment.
You will also have:
- A creative problem-solver and visionary, with ideas a-plenty
- Excellent time-management skills, and flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities
- Comfortable in a fast-moving environment being able to tackle larger projects as well as providing quick turnaround on ad-hoc requests
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both in person and virtually
- Demonstrate sound commercial and financial awareness
- Retail or luxury industry experience preferred, magazine experience (editorial or commercial) required
