Harrods is looking for a talented individual to lead and inspire our DevOps team, responsible for the development and ongoing operations of many applications across the Harrods estate. This is primarily a leadership position; however, you should be capable of being hands-on when needed.  Your team will be looking to you for technical guidance so being strong technically is a must.

About you

To succeed in this role you will be an experienced team manager, accustomed to pioneering great technology within a dynamic business environment. You’ll be accustomed to seeing teams through period of change and adjustment and developing the skillsets in your function to mature and build market leading development. You’ll be accustomed to working with a degreed of ambiguity on greenfield projects and excited to drive cutting-edge business changes and innovations.

You will have a proven CI/CD and Agile background with a solid understanding and experience of the Software Development Lifecycle, testing methodologies and techniques. Harrods technologies are primarily Microsoft aligned, experience in Microsoft based multi-tiered web hosting and working with C# delivery pipelines is a must. Azure DevOps and Azure platform experience for this role is extremely beneficial.

What to expect

As the DevOps Manager you will own the deployment and release process across all environments. Coordinate with the Test & Release Manager to ensure releases are planned and scheduled. Exciting innovation projects will be included in your remit as well as consolidating and migrating existing Harrods applications into the cloud.  Any previous development experience whilst not a prerequisite will be a game changer for this role as the ability to affect small change will be advantageous.

Vital to your role in Harrods will be fostering the DevOps culture, continuous learning and innovation with the wider IT organisation as Harrods IT is underway to transform to a leaner, more agile and collaborative way of working.

You will ensure that the system is effectively monitored and any alerts are efficiently tuned. Prioritise, manage and report all operational issues raised for Harrods Digital Technology systems, ensuring available resources are utilised and scheduled accordingly and that resolutions are met within business SLA’s or targets.

You will inform The head of Digital Technology of any operational activities that affect wider business systems, to ensure change requests are managed through the change advisory board (CAB) for the core Harrods Information Technology teams.  You will also roadmap and deliver the continual service improvement to identify where operational or development optimisations could be made to prevent issues occurring.
