Food Safety Specialist

Leadership

• Demonstrate effective management of food safety by flexing between coaching and directive approach as appropriate
• Responsible for the overall employee engagement for own area; with a focus on commitment and involvement of all employees.
• Build effective working relationships with support functions including food halls, services, restaurants, etc.

Operations

• Responsible for the implementation and communication to the team of expected food safety standards and targets; monitor and report any concerns in line with company procedures to the Senior Food Safety Adviser.
• Support the training systems to the store teams as directed by the Senior Food Safety Adviser.  To include, Awareness and Level 2 courses.
• Investigate food safety incidents relating to store operations, including customer complaints and report to Senior Food Safety Adviser.
• Conduct regular internal audits of allocated food related areas within the business in line with current legislative requirements and best practice.
• Monitoring and managing compliance within the Distribution and Airports Food Safety Management Systems.
• Verification of products delivered in the event of queries from the reception team prior to return to vendor.
