IT Graduate

Harrods is looking for exceptional graduates to join our IT department, working for the world-famous Luxury department store! 

Our growing IT department at Harrods is undergoing tremendous change to support our ever dynamic and fast-paced business needs. As well as vital foundation improvements, we are also investing in incorporating the latest industry technologies to enhance ur brand and customer experience.

About you

To be successful, you will have graduated with a minimum 2:1 in a relevant degree subject. You’ll be passionate about building an ambitious and lively career in computing and keen to learn and develop with a varied development path to ultimately carve the career of your choice in our business. You’ll have an organised and analytical approach to problem solving.

You’ll have strong communication skills, both verbal and written, adept to engaging an audience in person and in writing. In this role you’ll work across all communication platforms and will require excellent emotional intelligence and enthusiasm to succeed in our business.

You’ll have a prover ability to work well as a team and a lead, motivated to drive success in any dynamic setup.  We’re a busy business and will provide the support and tools along the way to ensure your success but you’ll need an ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines across multiple priorities, excited by the challenge our tempo has to offer.

What to expect

The Harrods IT Graduate programme consists of four 6-month placements, rotating across the IT department, giving you a well-rounded insight into the growing technological landscape within Harrods.

Moving around the teams you will gain valuable exposure to both the technical and non-technical areas of the department. From Project Management and Business Analysis to large scale ERP, Infrastructure and POS systems.  You will gain an in-depth understanding of how the various teams and systems function and interact. The programme will be tailored to where your interests, skills and strengths lie, allowing us to jointly identify a rewarding and sustainable career path in IT.

As a graduate coming into Harrods you will have the opportunity to attend workshops, deliver projects and gain experience in our business areas such as e-commerce, buying and distribution. This will give you an understanding of how we utilise technology to provide the customer with an exceptional in-store and online experience.

You will develop strong leadership and communication skills through both formal courses and on the job learning. Through mentoring from senior managers and tailored training you will be supported to develop your technical and professional knowledge. Applying this to the current portfolio of high-profile projects and operational initiatives within Harrods will ensure that your skills are transferable and your understanding is sound.
