Our Engineering team is now looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to lead our night shift team and ensure our iconic Knightsbridge store is maintained to the highest standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a department that keeps Harrods running smoothly behind the scenes. 

About the Role 

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of in-house Fabric Engineers to deliver both planned and reactive maintenance across the Harrods estate. You’ll report to the Maintenance Assistant Manager and play a key role in ensuring all work meets industry best practice and Health & Safety standards. 

Day-to-day you will: 

  • Lead and inspire your team, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical support. 
  • Drive employee engagement and development through regular 1:1s and annual performance reviews. 
  • Oversee reactive and planned maintenance tasks, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. 
  • Coordinate with other trades and disciplines to ensure smooth operations across the estate. 
  • Supervise external contractors when required, maintaining compliance and safety standards. 
  • Manage procurement of operational materials and services to support maintenance activities. 
  • Deliver toolbox talks and facilitate upskilling sessions to maintain technical knowledge within the team. 
  • Attend operational meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • This is a hands-on role requiring physical fitness, as some lifting and working at height will be involved. 


You will be working a shift pattern of 4 on, 4 off 7pm-7am.

About You 


You will be a confident leader with strong technical knowledge and the ability to motivate your team under pressure.


You will bring: 

  • City & Guilds qualification in Carpentry and Joinery (minimum). 
  • Experience in carpentry and joinery, plus secondary skills in fabric trades such as painting, tiling, flooring, and locksmith tasks. 
  • Knowledge of BS standards and relevant regulations. 
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
