Our Engineering team are now looking for an Assistant Engineering Technician to help keep our iconic store running at its very best.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Facilities & Engineering team, where you’ll support the smooth and safe operation of a wide range of building systems. Working alongside experienced technicians, you’ll gain hands-on exposure across electrical, mechanical, HVAC and general maintenance, all whilst developing your skills in a fast-paced, unique environment.

About the Role

In this role you will be responsible for supporting the maintenance and performance of engineering systems across the estate, ensuring everything runs safely, efficiently and in line with compliance standards. You’ll work closely with Technicians and the wider Engineering team, assisting with both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs, while continuously building your technical knowledge.

Day to day, you will:

  • Support the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, HVAC and building systems.
  • Assist in diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs under supervision.
  • Help maintain accurate records using maintenance systems and update asset information.
  • Support compliance activities, including risk assessments, permits-to-work and safety procedures.
  • Contribute to small project works such as installations, upgrades and commissioning tasks.
  • Assist with basic building fabric repairs such as plumbing, carpentry and decoration where appropriate.
  • Respond to urgent issues such as leaks, power disruptions or safety hazards.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.

You’ll report into a Principal Technician and play an important role in ensuring high standards of safety, reliability and service are consistently delivered.

About You

You will be a proactive and motivated individual who is eager to build a career in engineering. Comfortable working as part of a team, you’ll enjoy learning from others while also taking ownership of your own development.

You will:

  • Have a recognised engineering qualification (or be working towards one), such as Electrical or Mechanical NVQ, City & Guilds or similar.
  • Have some hands-on experience or a strong interest in building services, maintenance or engineering environments.
  • Be keen to develop multi-skilled capabilities across electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety and following procedures.
  • Be a clear communicator with a professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Show a positive, team-oriented mindset and willingness to support colleagues.
  • Be adaptable, organised and able to respond to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

With a strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn, you’ll thrive in an environment where no two days are the same, and where your development is actively supported.
