Plumbing Technician

We’re looking for a Plumbing Technician to work on a permanent contract basis of 44 hours per week across a 4 on 4 off rolling rota.

This position will have the shift pattern of 7:30am-7:30pm.

Harrods is located on the Brompton Road, next to Knightsbridge tube (Piccadilly), close to Sloane Square/South Kensington (District and Circle), with bus routes leading to all areas of London. 

About the Role

You will be a valued member of the workforce, undertaking work as instructed by the Plumbing Principal, assisting with the maintenance and repair of plumbing systems within the Knightsbridge store. You will maintain water treatment and conditioning and undertake planned and reactive maintenance either directly, or through specialist contractors and complete associated administration.

Dedicated to ensuring our customers have a superb experience, you will have a proactive approach to keeping the store maintained to perfection and spotting and resolving any unexpected issues with minimum disruption to our customers’ shopping/dining experience. You will prioritise your allocated workload and resources as appropriate to any risk to the business operation. You will assist colleague on other mechanical duties as required by the Engineering department.

About You

You will be a confident and self-motivated individual who is eager to learn and develop themselves. As the Plumbing Technician you will be able to work on your own initiative will have quick responses to faults and problem solving. You are an effective communicator with all levels of personnel, and will be able to build relationships across the team.

You will also:

• Be suitably qualified to a minimum C&G level or relevant experience.
• Be formally apprenticeship trained.
• Possess the technical knowledge and experience of general mechanical works, pipefitting & plumbing.
• Possess any necessary knowledge of legislation and ensure compliance.
• Be formally trained in the control and management of Legionella.
