Archive Executive

We have an exciting opportunity for an Archive Executive to join our Store Operations department here at Harrods. The role is based in Hammersmith with  occasional  travel  to  the  store  in Knightsbridge and to the Harrods Distribution Centre in Thatcham.

About The Role

As the Archive Executive you will support the Harrods Archivist with the management and  promotion  of  the  Company  Archive,  and  the  wide  range  of  activities  and processes required to deliver an effective archive service. The role is hybrid with 4 days in the office and 1 day at home.

You will also;

• Managing  the  ongoing  digitization programme for historic records
• Ensuring that collections are findable and accessible, and that the storage areas are organised
• Liaising with external conservators for conservation of the Archive’s collections
• Reviewing and updating existing policies and strategy in line with scheduled review timelines
• Making Archive material available to internal and external researchers, while ensuring that Data Protection regulations and copyright laws are followed

About You

The ideal candidate will have a Postgraduate   qualification   in   Archives   and   Records Management as well as prior experience in working   with   archives and using archival   collection  management systems such as Epexio. It is also important with this role that you can comfortably life boxes and equipment as this role involves manual handling.

You will also have the following;

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Knowledge and experience of digital preservation systems such  as  Preservica
• Proactive problem solving mindset
