About You

You are future orientated and strive to define commercial strategy to achieve sales and profit growth. A motivational leader, you pride yourself on building great relationships with your team, suppliers and key stakeholders. You are efficient and an optimiser, always aiming to exceed targets but never forgetting the customer and putting them at the forefront of everything that you do. Experience in Fresh Food buying is essential.

What to Expect

  • The Divisional Merchandise Manager will provide support to the Director of Food & Restaurants through working alongside Product Developers and Chefs to improve product range.

  • You will be accountable for developing and driving the Fresh division to deliver and exceed KPI’s through successful supplier negotiations in order to source product at the lowest cost and highest quality.

  • Liaising with both Buying and Merchandising to understand the complexities and opportunities for leverage and analyst brand performance.

  • Collaborate with the PR, Media & Marketing teams to deliver the buying vision to the customer.

  • Work closely with the shop floor team, Supply Coordinators and Buying Assistants to deliver product availability, quality and service to the customer.

  • Owner of the shop floor layout and planogram of products on the sales floor;  responsible for ensuring that the Buyers train the sales floor team to implement the vision correctly
