POS Systems Service Manager

We are looking for a POS Systems Services Manager to join our IT team here at Harrods.

The key purpose of this role is to lead and inspire our Retail Systems Service (RSS) team. Based within our Knightsbridge store, our RSS team provide a first-class support service to users and customers of our key retail systems – primarily point of sale, but also some others including scales, queue management systems and digital shelf edge labels.

This role is 5 days in the office at our Knightsbridge store.

About The Role

The POS Systems Service Manager will own the service that provides retail systems across our entire retail estate and underpins our key retail functions.

You will also;

• Collaborate with groups to deliver solutions in line with business requirements
• Develop and coach the team to lead them to industry best practice and introducing new ways of working to drive efficiencies
• Maintain systems availability, ensuring that all retail systems consistently operational during business hours
• Adhering to company standards for all remedial support, service requests and change
• Act as a point of escalation for any priority service impacting issues
• Foster strong relationships with vendors and internal IT teams to troubleshoot complex issues

About You

As the POS Systems Service Manager you will have a background in dealing with modern retail system applications, a technical understanding in retail applications and associated tooling and technologies, coupled with experience in retail services management core processes such as installation, move, add, and change, as well as incident, request and problem management, service oversight and representation and continuous service improvement.

We are looking for someone who is a highly motivated self-starter with the capability to prioritise demand and workload, positively manage and respond to any escalations. It is important to have clear communication both written and verbal as you will be effectively communicating and presenting to all levels across IT, the business and 3rd parties, as well as managing and motivating a team of internal specialist engineers.
