HGV Loader & Driver

Our Distribution team are looking to recruit a HGV Driver and Loader to support our Distribution centre operation. In this role you will provide an effective and efficient loading and delivery service from TVDC to Knightsbridge, Heathrow, Gatwick and Customers ensuring the highest standard of service excellence that Harrods is renowned for.

This position works varied shifts between 7am-11pm Monday to Sunday and with regular weekend work.

About You

To drive as part of our fleet you must be over the age of 21 and hold a clean, category C licence for HGV. You’ll need experience working in a commercial distribution operation and accustomed to working with warehouse team members and working to set SLAs and KPIs. As a key part of our operation you will be mindful of and motivated to deliver an excellent service to our end customer. Confident to escalate and communicate delays, supply chain challenges and able to work flexibility to deliver this consistently each day.

What to expect

As a HGV Loader & Driver you will carry out a thorough daily walk around check at the beginning of each shift, or upon changing vehicle and report any vehicle defects to TVDC office. You will take ownership for maintaining the cleanliness of your vehicle and for the loading/ unloading and safe transportation of all goods carried.

You will maintain the safety of loads en route and ensure all goods delivered are signed for by a recipient. You’ll be proactive in problem solving and have excellent communication skills.

You will drive the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law, paying particular attention to the breaks required under both drivers’ hours, and the EU working time directive. You will ensure all health & safety procedures and legislation is adhered to as well as upholding our company policies and procedures in your day to day duties.

You’ll need to have the flexibility and readiness to adapt to changing priorities as well as a strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to Harrods values. You’ll need to be willing to learn, if you do not already have SAP system experience and accepting of our uniform standards which must be worn each day on shift.
