Platform Lead

We are looking for a Platform Lead  to join our IT team in Harrods. The role will take full technical ownership of the digital solutions and applications that sit across the Harrods Customer, Product and Corporate domains. Working alongside other Platform Leads, Product Managers, Engineering teams, and a range of third parties, you will deliver best in class solutions that meet the needs of a variety of stakeholders across the Harrods business.

About the Role

As the Senior Platform Lead you will become an expert on your product and the industry landscape it sits in. You will drive service delivery excellence, enablement, and constant platform improvement, while continually looking to identify opportunities to drive operational efficiency and maintain a high-quality service at all times.

You will also:

• Working alongside the SAP CX Product Owner and SAP CX Solutions Manager, use insight and analysis to identify, prioritise and implement new opportunities and improvements that align with the commercial objectives of the Harrods business strategy, and the technical objectives of the Harrods IT Strategy
• Reduce overall SVC project risk by challenging and uncovering design issues early in the project lifecycle, sharing implementation best practices, and recommending solution alternatives
• Be an escalation point during major incidents, who can help technical teams as well as easily access the higher levels of vendors to positively influence the service and focus we receive. Service dependant, this can be a 24-hour function
• Own the technical solution from ‘cradle to grave’, being the face of the service within Harrods, ensuring functional needs are met while supporting scalability, reliability, and performance of the system - this may include a budget for that service

About You

As the Senior Platform Lead you will have previous experience with SAP CX Solutions, particularly SAP Customer Data Cloud, SAP Customer Data Platform, SAP Cloud for Customer, SAP Marketing Cloud / SAP Emarsys Customer Engagement. You will also have familiarity with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and working with managed backlogs using tools like Azure DevOps or Jira.

• Fantastic stakeholder management
• Passionate for technology – curiosity towards new and emerging technology
• Strong awareness and adherence to best practices of testing and deployment
• Expertise gathering and analysing requirements for large IT projects
• Ability to identify, track, and monitor technical dependencies across systems
• Good knowledge of current web technologies including topics like security, data protection, performance and high availability
