Harrods presents an exciting opportunity to join our Beauty Content team as a Deputy Beauty Editor and contribute to the growth of our industry-leading authority in the premium beauty space.
The Deputy Beauty Editor will have the opportunity to ideate and craft content across all print and digital platforms, covering editorial, e-commerce, social, in-store and brand partnership content.

About the Role
Being Deputy Beauty Editor offers opportunity for the right individual to flex their beauty expertise to a global audience. You will be given the platform to showcase your beauty knowledge by representing Harrods on camera and at events, as well as concepting projects behind-the-scenes – from planning annual editorial calendars and writing features to crafting storyboards for new social content executions. A passion for beauty and a creative flair must be innate, while a deep understanding of key brands, an insatiable interest in product, and a keen eye for exciting new social trends is vital.
The main responsibilities of the role involve the day-to-day management of all content – pitching, writing, editing and commissioning to ensure all content is aligned to the Harrods beauty brand goals. Manage BAU publishing across all platforms: .com, social media, email, app and Harrods magazine, ensuring all content is delivered on time and to a high standard before the Beauty Editor’s final approval. Also Maintaining good relationships with stakeholders across the business, supporting overall strategies and business priorities with departments including marketing, buying, partnerships and PR.
Alongside:
- Translate the content strategy and apply it to all Harrods content channel plans and executions.
- Coordinate beauty pages of Harrods magazines, seeing pieces through from pitch to publication, including commissioning external writers.
- Brief creative teams on content executions and ensure all output is aligned to our content standards.
- Manage Harrods beauty brand partnership activity and support the Partnerships team to identify new revenue streams.
- Be an active advocate for the Harrods and Harrods beauty brand values and ensuring this is upheld across all content.
- Uphold the Harrods tones of voices, and ensuring all content aligns with the wider content strategy.
About You
You will demonstrate relevant experience managing and executing content in line with a clearly defined but regularly evolving strategy and be a true expert in the beauty and wellness space.
You must be confident converting industry knowledge and expertise into an action plan, based upon your strong understanding of consumer behaviour and how to create successful content for a retail customer. As integral member to a team that is truly omnichannel, covering all digital and print platforms (including .com, email, app, social media and Harrods magazine), they will be an expert in the different channels, understanding the nuances of each platform and offer strategic recommendation based on these.
Therefore, you will have:
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing channels and print platforms.
- Strong knowledge of luxury beauty brands and the ever-changing beauty landscape.
- Understanding of the retail landscape, particularly relating to luxury beauty.
- Experience hosting and presenting, and comfortable doing so both on camera and in person.
- Ability to work on several projects at once, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Expert copywriting skills and a keen eye for detail.
- An analytical mind: able to analyse data and act upon it.
- Good working knowledge of SEO.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Impeccable organisation
