We have an amazing opportunity for a DevOps apprentice to join our Digital Technology DevOps Team at Harrods. The DevOps apprentice will be responsible for the support and overall service of all production and non-production application environments across the digital estate, as well as supporting the ownership and management of all associated deployment pipelines.
About the role
In this role, you will assist with all day-to-day operational activities while working hands-on as part of the team. Working closely with the other functions within Digital Technology, you will align with the development lifecycle to support the effective delivery of new functionality and projects.
At all times you will need to ensure that monitoring, security, and any performance implications are considered and that the correct measures are put in place to detect problems at the earliest opportunity. You will also support proactive measures that can enable the team to preventatively optimize and continuously improve the solutions.
You will be enrolled and required to complete the DevOps Engineer level 4 apprenticeship 24 month program, This means taking responsibility for all aspects of the development and operations process - the design, build, test, implementation, release, and continual iteration of products.
About you
As a DevOps Apprentice, you will have a willingness to learn and develop new skills, as well as the ability to work as a team player and adapt to changing priorities. We are looking for someone with a practical mindset and problem solving skills, who has an interest in Cloud, Scripting, software development, and IT security technologies.
You will have knowledge or understanding of CICD Pipelines, deploying scalable web/ mobile applications in the cloud, as well as an understanding of Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps. You will have knowledge of database technologies such as MSQL and Cosmos DB, and an understanding of scrum or agile methodologies.
Further to this, you must have:
- Level 3 Software apprenticeship
- OR A-Level in a STEM subject (in Technology and Maths fields only) and successful completion of our Aptitude Test
- OR BTEC Diploma in IT and successful completion of our Aptitude Test
- OR two years' experience in a relevant role and successful completion of our Aptitude Test
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.
If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.
