We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Communications to lead Harrods' external communications efforts and brand across all channels.

About the Role

As the Head of Communications, you will play a key role in shaping and executing Harrods' corporate and consumer communications strategies. Working within the Corporate Affairs team, you will oversee both proactive and reactive communication initiatives, ensuring the brand is well-positioned in the eyes of media, industry stakeholders, and consumers. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong industry connections and a track record of successful communications leadership.

Key duties include:

  • Developing and implementing a holistic communication strategy, focusing on corporate and consumer outreach.
  • Leading PR campaigns across multiple Harrods divisions, including Fashion, Beauty, and Food, as well as supporting key brand partnerships.
  • Managing crisis communications and mitigating potential risks to the brand in collaboration with the Crisis Management Team.
  • Building relationships with key media and industry contacts to secure coverage in high-impact outlets.
  • Overseeing a team of managers and communications professionals, guiding their development and ensuring cohesive messaging across all channels.

This role works Monday to Friday, with a blend of office-based days in Hammersmith and flexible remote working.

About You

You will be an accomplished communications professional with a strong strategic mindset and the ability to deliver impactful messaging at both corporate and consumer levels. You will be confident working in a fast-paced environment, with the experience needed to handle complex issues and maintain Harrods' reputation as a leading luxury brand. You are proactive, adaptable, and possess a deep understanding of the communications landscape, with a focus on luxury retail, policy, and media relations. Your ability to build relationships and influence at all levels, including C-Suite stakeholders, will be critical to your success in this role.

You will also have:

  • Significant experience in leading communication strategies, including crisis management and brand positioning, with a proven track record of success in a senior role.
  • A well-established network of media, industry, and external affairs contacts across various channels, with a history of securing high-quality media coverage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments, influencing key internal and external stakeholders to deliver cohesive and aligned communications.
