EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Manager

You will ensure the smooth maintenance and unaltered presentation of Merchandise Data working in a dynamic set up between the Harrods buying teams, our 3rd party supplier and vendors. In this unique role you will project manager the operational delivery and drive our team to succeed at this exciting time. No day is the same, you will be the recognised department lead for EDI and ecommerce both internally and externally, charged with inspiring a high performing service focused team.

About you

You’ll be an experienced people manager, accustomed to leading a process led team operation with a passion for first class customer service. You’ll be an effective motivator – taking ownership of your team’s objectives and goals and empowering your team to take action that delivers results. You’ll have experience in developing others and fostering strong business relationships, pre-empting and managing conflict and taking appropriate action when needed.

You’ll be a confident communicator who works well in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.  Someone who can easily multi-task and manage several customers and multiple on-boarding projects.  You are the kind of person who has a focus on results and meeting targets.

What to expect

Reporting to the Merchandising Development Manager you will lead our EDI team and connect departments to build strong relationships both internally and externally. You’ll have ownership of on-boarding internationally located vendors as well as maintaining business-as-usual management of EDI with our established trading partners. You’ll manage the relationship with our 3rd party in their delivery of technical output to ensure a smooth process. Working to tight deadlines in a relationships-based position, you will enable opportunities to knowledge share and promote continuous improvement across the business at this busy and unique time for our iconic brand.

Whilst managing a team you will be identifying and delivering continuous improvement that will provide a streamlined on-boarding experience for vendors and internal stakeholders, as well as improving in-house processes, reporting and timelines. You will be supporting with the training of in-house colleagues and providing/maintaining documentation for the training. As the go-to person, no day will be the same whilst to pave both the way to both short- and long-term businesses successes.

What is important?

You will be an experienced people manager with a strong operational background in driving systems management and initiatives from either supplier, vendor or client side.  You’ll be motivated to make an impact, accustomed to managing and developing a team. Confident to build relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders both internally and externally. You’ll have good knowledge of End-to-End Supply Chain processes and flows and a wider understanding of systems and connectivity to integration platforms. Applied Knowledge of EDIFACT standards is desirable.
