Food Buying Admin Assistant

We are currently recruiting for a Food Buying Admin Assistant, with a specific focus in Ambient Fresh and Ingredients.  

About the Role  

As a Food Buying Admin Assistant, you'll play a key role in supporting our Fresh Food Buying team, working closely with buyers to enhance commercial performance and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations. Your work will impact both our in-store and online offerings, as well as our owned and concession-based models. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Managing invoice processes and article creation through internal systems like SAP and Perceptive Content 

• Supporting the maintenance and accuracy of product data across all channels 

• Assisting with pricing updates, promotions, and product hierarchy changes 

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Merchandising, Retail, and Online Trading 

• Contributing to process improvement projects and commercial roadmaps 

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

About You  

You will be a highly organised and proactive individual, with a deep-rooted passion for luxury food, who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment. With a keen eye for detail, you’ll take initiative, build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and poise. Your ability to prioritise and problem-solve will be crucial to succeeding in this role. 

You will need: 

• Strong administrative and time-management skills 

• Previous experience within a food background (preferred, but not essential) 

• Confidence using Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of SAP is a plus 

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills 

• Fantastic attention to detail where you will be responsible for actioning cost price changes
