We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our welcoming team at The Champagne Bar within our H beauty store in the Metrocentre, Gateshead.

This is a fulltime position with working hours that align with our H beauty store opening times, which means no early starts or late nights!

About the Role

The Champagne Bar with H Beauty aims to uphold the same standards and service of the restaurants within our Harrods store in London. As the Kitchen Assistant at The Champagne Bar, you’ll be prepping for our new menu which includes both hot and cold dishes, working with fresh produce, all prepared to a high standard.

You will be at the heart of the action, preparing and organising ingredients, and keeping the kitchen clean. Reporting into the Chef de Partie, you’ll be a key member of the team, whose role is integral to the smooth operation and delivery of the kitchen operations. 

You’ll be responsible for the organisation, stock rotation and labelling of food stored ensuring that all administration for own section is completed and complies with the deadlines set. In this role, you’ll guarantee that Food Safety standards are adhered to by enforcing the high standard of hygiene and sanitation in all food-related outlets.

About You

Having a great knowledge and passion for food and drink is essential, and ideally have time spent in a busy restaurant or high-end café-bar environment. In return you'll be given all the training and support you'll need to develop in the kitchen.

You will also have:

  • Experience working in a kitchen in a similar role
  • Great time management skills and exceptional interpersonal skills
  • A strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties
  • Good attention to detail, which you have demonstrated in previous roles through paperwork completed, organisation of the section and sufficient stock levels
