We are searching for a Payroll Administrator to join the team here at Harrods.

This role joins a team of 3 Payroll Technicians, who support across various divisions: as the Payroll Administrator you will provide support across the whole of the business, ensuring queries are acknowledged and actioned in line with SLAs.

About the Role

The main focus of the role is to provide a first class service to all employees ensuring that they are paid accurately and on time as well as providing technical assistance on all aspects of the payroll cycle.

You will be the first point of contact for all payroll enquiries, including the management of the Workday cases and the payroll inbox. These could range from internal queries, for example employees asking where to upload their P45, to external queries, for example prior employees querying tax.

Your duties will also include:

  • Taking ownership of running the monthly checklist to ensure all aspects of the payroll is completed.
  • Fully reconcile and process the pension pay over.
  • Calculating net payments.
  • Updating the monthly checklist is in line with current audit and legislation requirements.
  • Recording payroll processes such as overpayments, advances & late paperwork. 
  • Interface testing and amendments.

About You

You will be an experienced Payroll Administrator, having worked in an in-house team you will be well versed in calculating tax, national insurance and statutory payments. You will not only have great attention to detail, but also be methodical and able to work under pressure.

As the first tier contact for Payroll, you will be able to communicate effectively at all levels, both via email, phone or Teams. You will also be able to work at pace, to achieve SLAs, whilst being empathetic to any challenging situations.

We are also looking for someone who:

  • Has expert Excel skills (V Look Ups, Pivot Tables and Macros).
  • Is confident in using Outlook and Word.
  • Can maintain confidentiality & discretion whilst dealing with sensitive information.
  • Is decisive and able to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Is a strong team player.
