We are looking for a Senior Food Safety Technologist to play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, legality, and quality across our production kitchens.


About the Role 


As a key member of the Food Safety & Technical team, you will lead compliance efforts, champion best practices, and mentor kitchen teams to maintain exceptional standards. Your expertise will help us deliver safe, high-quality products while driving continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor compliance with food safety legislation across Harrods Production, Pastry Kitchens, and Chocolaterie.
  • Lead and maintain HACCP plans, SOPs, and food safety audits, ensuring alignment with legal and brand standards.
  • Investigate food safety and quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with chefs and technical teams to ensure accurate product specifications and customer information.
  • Deliver food safety training and foster a strong food safety culture throughout the business.


This role is fully on site, working 5 out of the 7 days a week. Weekend work may also be required.


About You


You will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a passion for food safety and quality. Your ability to lead, influence, and communicate effectively will enable you to drive compliance and continuous improvement across diverse teams. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to upholding Harrods’ values.


You will:

  • Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in Food Safety, Technical, or Environmental Health.
  • Have experience in manufacturing or retail supplier management, with strong knowledge of HACCP (minimum Level 3).
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Proven experience in food safety compliance and auditing.
  • Strong PC literacy (Word, Excel; SAP desirable).
