We are currently looking for Designer to join our Creative Content division team, who will be responsible for designing cross channel elements, focusing on both print and digital delivery.

As we celebrate this momentous anniversary year, now more than ever, it’s an exciting time to join the Harrods Team. Whether you’re a recent school, college or university leaver, or you’re looking to restart your career in an exciting new field, at Harrods we firmly believe in offering exciting career opportunities.

About the Role

As a Designer you will be comfortable to take on projects from concept to ready for print, from taking a brief from a stakeholder, direction from senior staff, to delivering the final output. This role will sit within the Creative Content division and report to the Lead Designer.

Other responsibilities and attributes include:

  • Excellent layout skills, great typography and retouching knowledge.
  • To successfully understand a brief in order to interpret business needs.
  • To think creatively to solve the problems in a broader sense; whilst being innovative within constraints of cost and time (Time management and prioritisation skills).
  • Choosing the most suitable style and techniques based on the brief and brand guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and can multi-task, delivering prompt results and prioritising effectively.
  • Experience in creating digital art and assets (such as web banners, e-vites and screen displays).
  • Collaborate with other creative teams within the business (such as VM, Social Media) to wholistic and consistent responses to briefs.
  • Keep up with trends in Luxury design, and the creative efforts of our major competitors as well as other luxury brands, both in-stores and on-line.

About You

You must have good knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite, and experience within animation and video editing software such as After Effects. Also presentation design experience in PowerPoint and keynote would be beneficial. Experience of the retail or luxury sector would also be a bonus.

You will be someone who is a natural and proactive problem solver. You will also be agile and thrive in a fast-moving environment, equally happy tackling several projects at the same time and quick turnaround of ad hoc requests.

You will also have:

  • The ability to think laterally and creatively to come up with great design solutions quickly and effectively in a demanding and challenging environment.
  • Great organisations skills and be good at managing and juggling projects.
  • A methodical, agile approach whilst thriving in a fast-moving environment.
  • The skills to think outside the box and solve problems, not just be an artworker.
  • enthusiasm about an idea and bring people along with you.
  • excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
  • Confidence in using the full Abode Suite.
  • Basic animation skills in After Effects, as well as Illustration skills, and 3d rendering applications such as Modo, Cinema 4D.
