Food Safety Technologist

Our Food Safety & Technical team support our growing array of restaurants and our magnificent Food Halls, in our continued ambition to be one of the world’s leading food destinations. We’re now looking for a Food Safety Technologist to join this fun, dynamic and talented team.

About the Role

As a Food Safety Technologist, you’ll be the ambassador of safety, legality, quality and integrity for Harrods made-in-house products ensuring brand reputation and due diligence is maintained at all times. You’ll implement, monitor and manage compliance with legislations relating to food safety and legality within the Harrods Production Kitchens and relating Food Hall counters as well as promoting a positive food safety culture across the teams.

You’ll demonstrate effective management of food safety by flexing between coaching and directive approach as appropriate. Delivering regular Food Safety and Hygiene training to Back of House and Front of House team members will also be part of your regular activities. 

About You

You’ll be a valuable team player with a strong track record of food safety technologist roles or related experience. You’ll have a Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Safety/Technical, or Food Safety and Quality Management. Knowledge of HACCP awareness (min L2 HACCP) is also desirable. 

You’ll have great time-management skills and a strong customer focus when dealing with both internal and external parties. You’ll have exceptional communicational and interpersonal skills as you will be interacting with other business areas in your day to day. You’ll have good analytical skills and with excellent attention to detail. Having solid PC skills is a must, being particularly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience with auditing would also be advantageous.
