Maintenance Carpenter (Days)

Our Maintenance Team is looking for a Carpenter to maintain Harrods estate to exceptional standards and to carry out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance tasks as required and within timescales.

We are looking for an individual that will deliver the maintenance tasks, prioritizing urgent activities which effects Health and Safety, operational stability, and brand reputation. You will carry out special projects and ensure all works are in line with industry best practice adhering to relevant H&S policies and procedures, whilst liaising with all other trades to ensure activities are coordinated.

Our Facilities and Operations people keep our iconic Knightsbridge store running smoothly 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. You will be part of a small army of the very best electricians, plumbers, carpenters, and technicians collectively known as our Engineering and Maintenance team and are at the heartbeat of our operation. With finely honed technical skills, vast experience, and tireless attention to detail, this team are present 24/7 to look after everything from state-of-the-art installations to our 170 plus years old heritage features, all to make sure Harrods is always ready to serve its customers. 

About You

You will need to be experienced and suitably qualified in all aspects of carpentry and joinery to a minimum City and Guilds Carpentry and Joinery. A secondary experienced in other fabric trades including but not limited to painting, decorating, tiling, roof repairs, flooring, and locksmith tasks will be necessary.

Working on shifts (days) and amongst a wider team, you must be confident, self-motivated, keen, and eager to learn, able to communicate clearly with others with flexibility to accommodate and support your team and business. You will be confident to respond reactively to faults and be able to work on your own initiative and make quick and accurate decisions.
