We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Print Designer to join our Harrods Own Label team on a fixed term contract for 6 months.

This role involves the research, design, and delivery of exceptional print concepts for our products and packaging, aligning with our department strategy and key deadlines.

About the Role

As a Print Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping our print strategy, ensuring collections are innovative, market-leading, and aligned with seasonal trends.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and proficiency in PowerPoint and Keynote.
  • Strong digital art and asset creation skills with excellent layout and retouching capabilities.
  • Deliver innovative print designs with a premium aesthetic, drawing on diverse influences.
  • Collaborate with Designers, Buyers, and Technologists to elevate each collection, ensuring right-first-time products.
  • Manage projects to meet deadlines efficiently while maintaining industry-standard best practices.

Strategy & Range Proposition -

  • Contribute to the seasonal print design strategy, identifying trends and opportunities for growth.
  • Deliver print designs that enhance customer acquisition, quality, and brand equity.
  • Research and develop category trends, create mood boards, and adapt designs in response to sales opportunities.

Product -

  • Create original print designs and adapt existing ones for product and packaging.
  • Manage colour selection, printing methods, and material choices to achieve design objectives.
  • Communicate effectively with suppliers to ensure timely, accurate samples that meet design standards.
  • Stay informed on world-class competition and apply this knowledge to your designs.

Supplier Relationships -

  • Manage relationships with external print houses and freelance designers, ensuring all work meets the brief and is delivered on time.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of supplier capabilities and technical aspects of printing.
  • Provide clear, efficient communication to suppliers, ensuring alignment with seasonal trends and timely delivery.

Commercial -

  • Support the drive for gross sales and net contribution by contributing to in-season trade with innovative print designs.
  • Maintain strong commercial awareness, identifying opportunities for testing, trialling, and further development of best-selling designs.

Leadership, Training, and Employee Development -

  • Embody and promote company values, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, helping them grow their creative and commercial skills.
  • Contribute to team goals and demonstrate a proactive approach to collective deliverables.

About You

You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering quick turnarounds. Your ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive newness in our offerings will be essential. This position requires a proactive problem solver with a keen eye for detail, exceptional creativity, and strong organizational skills.

You’ll also have:

  • In-depth understanding of the bridge/luxury retail landscape.
  • High level of creativity, innovation, and taste.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with a flexible, solution-oriented approach.
  • Confident in challenging the status quo and advocating for design excellence.
  • Positive, can-do attitude with strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
