Our Creative Operations team is looking for an experienced Social Media Strategy Lead to develop and drive strategic initiatives in the social space for our iconic British brand, directly contributing to Harrods’ growth and market influence.
About the Role
This role will be instrumental in redefining and optimising Harrods’ organic presence across the major social platforms, supporting us in achieving our overarching marketing and customer goals. As leaders in the retail industry, we strive for innovative strategies which deliver measurable results.
Reporting to the Head of Content, you will be acting as an advisor to the business; identifying what delivers benefit in the world of social media and working with stakeholders to make recommendations on spend and return on investment, reputational positioning and customer advocacy.
You will also:
- Tailor and drive organic social media strategies aligned with diverse business objectives, showcasing adaptability and innovative thinking.
- Devise and execute comprehensive, high-impact strategies for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and other key social media platforms
- Apply technical knowledge of platform algorithms, features, and audience behaviours to drive engagement and visibility.
- Comprehensively analyse data (engagement, effectiveness, reach, impressions, growth, clicks and conversion) from platforms including Sprinklr, Dash Hudson, Google Analytics and custom dashboards to derive actionable insights and shape recommendations for enhancing our social media footprint.
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders, advocating for the strategic importance and ROI of organic social media initiatives.
- Identify and forge innovative partnerships with platforms, brands, and creators, exploring technical and creative collaborations that position Harrods at the forefront of groundbreaking initiatives; remaining mindful of business and customer benefit at all times.
- Lead our collaboration with the in-market China digital and social media agency, steering the evolution and impact of our social media presence on WeChat, Weibo, and Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book).
About You
You will have experience in leading on social media and engagement strategy for a large business; you may have worked for a social media platform before or another competitor where statistics and analysis is the core of what you do. You are a confident communicator who can lead a room of senior leaders along the journey of what you want to deliver.
Harrods has a large and complex footprint with a diverse global customer set – from aspirational to UHNW shoppers. A one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work for us, so you will need experience in devising agile social strategies to support a variety of clients and brands. The role will require strategic thinking to support commercial goals (new venture awareness, bookings/traffic, and community growth) as well as optimum channel performance metrics per platform.
About Us
Harrods is one of the world’s leading luxury department stores and we’re becoming a destination for top designers, and the most sought-after brands from around the globe. Our combined mission is to make visiting our iconic Knightsbridge store one of the world’s most inspiring shopping experiences.
Our Promise to You
Help us make the impossible possible for our customers and we’ll do something remarkable for you. As well as offering a friendly environment to inspire your best work, we provide abundant opportunities and support to build an exceptional career across the varied specialisms of our business.
In return you’ll receive an excellent benefits package, including a company pension, flexible working, 25 days’ holiday, and your birthday off, up to 33% in-store discount (including across our food hall and restaurants) and a season ticket loan.
Uniquely You
At Harrods we believe the personality and authenticity of our people sets us apart. We celebrate and invite applications from all cultures, backgrounds, tastes, and experiences and are proud of our culture where people from all walks of life can grow and thrive. What makes you unique makes us exceptional.
While our job adverts outline the ideal qualities, skills, and prior experience for the role, we believe in the potential for growth and value individual strengths. If you do not meet every desired criteria but feel you have the skills and experience to thrive in this role as well as a genuine interest in working for Harrods and you can demonstrate an alignment with our values, we would encourage you to apply.
If you want to know more about our people and our culture, search #TogetherHarrods on LinkedIn, Facebook or follow us on Instagram @togetherharrods

We believe in the value of coming together to connect, collaborate and learn, while also appreciating the benefits of focused work from home. Most hybrid roles involve being on-site at least three days a week, depending on business needs.
