We are looking for a Principal BMS & HVAC Technician to join our Engineering Manager in looking after the operation, maintenance and repair of the BMS and HVAC systems within the Knightsbridge store and associated buildings. 

This role is a 4 on 4 off shift rotation, with a requirement to carry out permanent night shifts throughout the year. 

About the Role 

The Principal BMS & HVAC Technician will be responsible for responding to operational incidents, via BMS alarms and faults reporting system where the Engineering assistance is required. You will be supported by our Night Technicians and will be accountable for planning, managing and executing the day-to-day operation of the BMS and HVAC team, ensuring everything is working and set to deliver a great experience for our customers. 

You will be managing the Harrods BMS and HVAC technicians and external specialist suppliers to deliver planned and reactive maintenance tasks, as well as supervising the welfare of the BMS and HVAC Engineers who will cover a variety of duties. You will ensure that all of the Technician’s work is in line with the industry best practice, adhering to relevant Health and Safety regulations and other legal requirements. 

You will advise in the development of PPM schedules, including continuous review of maintenance procedures and periods. You will ensure asset registers are regularly updated and work with the Help Desk Manager to ensure all equipment requiring planned and reactive maintenance are accurately detailed on the PPM system.

About You 

You will be a confident and self-motivated individual, with the natural ability to engage, coach, and motivate your team. You will be able to work under your own initiative and adapt to fast-moving ever-changing situations, and will respond to faults with pace and problem solving skills. 

You will also be:

•    Suitably qualified to a minimum C&G level and conversant in the field of HVAC, Electrical installation and repair, general mechanical works, and general pipefitting and plumbing.
•    Fully conversant with all BS and relevant regulations.
•    Willing to work flexible hours when necessary.
•    Customer-focused approach when liaising with internal/external stakeholders and customers.
