We are recruiting for a Buyer to join our Baby & Nursery Team on a Fixed Term Contract until November.

This role will support the Buying Manager in delivering their strategic vision to commercially drive the business across all channels (store, online, airports and international ventures) as well as both operational models (own bought and concession).

About the role

As the Buyer for Baby & Nursery, you will lead and inspire your team of Assistant Buyers, Senior Buyer's Clerks and Buyer's Clerks, who will support you in bringing the departments strategy to life. You will proactively manage the brands development and product selection for the category, securing the best in class product offering. Covering not only baby clothing but furniture pieces including cots, prams and changing tables, as well as a small selection of wallpaper and décor.

Your key focuses will be:

  • Building the core range
  • Forecasting and maintaining stock levels
  • Driving the ASV through visual merchandising moments and pop ups
  • Developing cross channel relationships
  • Attending domestic and international buying appointments

About you

We are looking for someone who has experience in the Baby and Nursery Furniture category, be it within a multi-brand store or standalone brand. You will be an inspiring leader, able to bring your people on the journey whilst identifying key opportunities to drive the business forward. The ideal candidate will also:

  • Be a strong and consistent relationship builder, both internally and externally
  • Possess great confidence in negotiating with stakeholders and giving presentations.
  • Demonstrate inept industry knowledge and awareness consistently.
  • Have an impeccable attention to detail and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent with Microsoft packages and IT systems (SAP Preferred).
