Our renowned Wine & Spirits team are now seeking a Buying Assistant to join them here at Harrods on a permanent basis.

This is a unique opportunity to grow your career in luxury retail, working alongside our experienced buyers and Master of Wine to source the finest products for our discerning customers. 

About the Role 

As a Buying Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting our commercial strategy, driving sales, and enhancing profitability within the Wines & Spirits category. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to source and promote exceptional products, building strong relationships with both suppliers and internal stakeholders. This role will also offer opportunities to gain industry qualifications and experience, including WSET certifications and tasting with producers. 

Your key responsibilities will also be: 

  • Assist in developing and implementing category strategies, supporting product selection, and life cycle management. 

  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure smooth execution of category initiatives. 

  • Provide data insights to optimize product assortment and promotional activities. 

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver exclusive products, events, and editorial content. 

  • Maintain accurate product data and pricing in collaboration with internal teams. 

 

About You 

You’ll be detail-oriented, motivated, and have a passion for the wine and spirits industry. Experience of or exposure to buying, sales or supply chain is a plus.

 

You will also have: 

  • Strong analytical and communication skills with a keen eye for detail. 

  • Experience in or knowledge of the wine industry and luxury retail is desirable. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Willingness to undertake WSET qualifications. 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
