About You

You will be passionate about data and how we can use it to our improve our business.  We’re looking for someone highly motivated to tackle challenges they may not have encountered before and who can bring enthusiasm for developing our data science capabilities to the team.

You will ideally have the following skills:

  • Degree in a computing or numerate subject (e.g. Computer Science, Maths, Economics) OR 2-3 years’ experience in an analytical or data-driven role
  • Strong t-SQL skills
  • An understanding of data architecture and data warehousing principles
  • Strong analytical skills, with an ability to communicate complex analysis/data issues with competency
  • Knowledge of key data science methodologies (e.g. regression, classification, unsupervised learning)
  • Experience programming in R
  • Some experience with online and social media data would be beneficial but not required

What to Expect

  • As part of the Customer Insight department you’ll work with the Data Scientist to explore and analyse our customer data.

  • Looking at key data sets, we want you to develop and model data sources to identify key attributes that drive deeper understanding of customer behaviour.

  • Your technical skills will allow you to interrogate and optimise data in normalised databases as well as tackling unstructured web and social media data.

  • Presenting analysis on the impact of new data on customer behaviours will allow you to demonstrate your analytical prowess.

  • You will work closely with IT, Campaign Analysts and our Performance Reporting team to ensure that newly developed data sets are available for use across all the Customer Insight teams.Your knowledge of data warehousing and data science methodology will ensure that the data is available to cover the wide range of uses across these teams.
