We are recruiting for a Deputy Food & Lifestyle Editor to join our Creative Content team, based out of Hammersmith, on a Fixed Term Contract until May 2024.

As the Deputy Food & Lifestyle Editor you will lead on all digital (.com, email, app, social) content across Food and Lifestyle. Responsible for inspiring and managing the Food & Lifestyle Writer, you will also guide, develop, and approve the weekly content calendar across both categories.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Content Manager, this role is the editorial and operational lead on all digital (.com, email, app, social) food and lifestyle content, both BAU and marketing responses to brief, covering food, home and lifestyle, tech and restaurants. You’ll ideate and produce engaging weekly editorial content that supports our trade and marketing agendas, inspires and captures the attention of an option-rich digital customer.

You will be the key contact for brands, working closely with them to secure unique editorial content for our digital platforms. With a focus on commercial delivery, you will work closely with Trade and Marketing teams to ensure all content is trade focused and seasonally relevant.

Your responsibilities will also include:

  • Management of BAU food and lifestyle content calendar.
  • Writing weekly food editorial, as well as fortnightly home stories.
  • Editing and approving the Food & Lifestyle Writer’s content and developing their skillset.
  • Leading on all BAU and marketing activity relating to food, home and lifestyle, tech and restaurants.
  • Driving authority and relevance while upholding the Harrods tone of voice.
  • Reporting on all content produced.

About You

As the Deputy Food & Lifestyle Editor, you will be a passionate expert across food, home and broader lifestyle categories with a deep knowledge of brands and emerging social trends. You should be excited by best-in-class content executions across the luxury retail and hospitality landscape, tabling creative and innovative ways to story tell in this space. You’ll have excellent interpersonal skills to liaise daily with several teams within the business, including creative production, marketing, trade and media sales.

You must be able to show an aptitude for analytics, offering insights from reporting to optimise digital content and continually improve conversion and engagement metrics. As well as being a natural communicator, you’ll be well organised and confident in prioritising a busy workload for yourself and your team.

You will also possess::

  • A wealth of experience within an online marketing/content role.
  • Acute industry awareness and understanding of KOLs and trending stories.
  • Awareness of fundamental content marketing strategies.
  • Ability to self-prioritise workload and juggle multiple priorities to deliver high quality results .
  • An analytical mind with a creative heart.
  • Comprehensive understanding of analytical tools.
