Electrical Technician Nights

We are looking for an Electrical Technician to join our Engineering Nights Team here at Harrods. The team are present 24/7 to look after everything from state-of-the-art installations to our 170 plus years old heritage features. You will be essential in keeping our iconic Harrods building running behind the scenes, making sure Harrods is always ready to serve its customers.

This role will be a 4 day on 4 day off shift rotation, with a requirement to carry out night shifts throughout the role.

About the Role

As an Electrical Technician, you will be proactively carrying out designated tasks and duties whilst ensuring they are carried out in a safe and efficient manner. You will also be assisting in managing the day to day planned and reactive maintenance programme.

You will be accountable for:

• Reporting all Behavioural, Security or Health and Safety issues to the Principal Technician.
• Continually developing your knowledge in line with industry best practice.
• Giving technical support and complete ad-hoc works as required by the Principal Technician.
• Providing support for the wider Engineering Team.
• Identifying energy saving opportunities and assist in their implementation.
• Delivering improvements to work scheduling by working closely with the Facilities Help Desk Team and implementing change where required.

About You

As an Electrical Technician, you will be an experienced and qualified Electrician who is self-motivated and has the initiative to make quick and accurate decisions. You will have quick responses to failure, and be able to communicate effectively with the wider team.

You will also:

• Be suitably qualified to a minimum City and Guilds 236 Electrical Installation Parts I and II
• 18th Edition BS 7671
• Fully conversant with all applicable British Standards and relevant regulations
• Have previous night shift experience desirable
